Born the last of nine children, Gary was born and raised in Panama City, a mid=sized community located in Northwest Florida better known as "The Florida Panhandle". While growing up he often found himself on the wrong side of the law. He hit rock bottom literally after being hooked on crack cocaine. His $200 a day habit eventually landed him in jail, where for the first time he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. On December 13, 1991 by divine appointment, he was granted his release. Two days later he was led to Free Spirit Community Church where he has been a member ever since. He is married to the former Maxine Harris and together the operate their own business, Touch of Velvet, He is active in street evangelism, and preaches in the same jail that he was incarcerated in. The law said he was facing 60 years of prison time, but through the mercy and grace of God, he took a menace to society and ordained a Minister.

If laughter doeth good like medicine, then I want to be funny enough that people who hear me would afterwards walk in divine health.
